Sam and her husband, Jamie, live on and manage the Eggleton family farm at Cannington inland from Timaru. The genetics of the 830 mainly Friesian herd was New Zealand based until the family decided to move 70% to World Wide Sires in 2021.
“When we moved to World Wide Sires, our rep (Jess) told us that we’d see a difference in the substance and quality of the calves, and took us to see the progeny of some of the bulls we’d be using. We were really impressed with the strength and consistency of the calves and it confirmed we’d made the right decision moving to the biggest dairy genetics business in the world.”
“Looking at our first-born World Wide Sires calves they certainly met our expectations – they’re born ready to go! Easy to train, strong fast drinkers and well framed.
“They made my job relatively easy! We’ve got a great line of dairy replacements so I’m pretty happy!”.
